About Us

FOUNDER

Samsara Marriott, BSc, BEd, is the founder and lead educator of Thinkery Tinkery. A certified teacher with extensive experience across K–12 education, she brings together formal classroom practice, informal science education, and performance-based engagement to create dynamic, interactive learning experiences.

Her work is shaped by a background in experiential and international education. Samsara worked in informal science education at Science World British Columbia where she helped develop engaging  programs and interactive learning experiences for youth. She also worked with the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST), supporting a variety of diversity-oriented outreach initiatives.  Samsara is currently an occasional teacher with the  Limestone District School Board

Alongside her education roles, Samsara has a background in professional performance and live audience engagement, including roving character, stage and film extra work. She has also contributed to science communication through media and public-facing educational features, helping to bring clarity and context to complex scientific ideas.

Through Thinkery Tinkery, Samsara creates playful, inquiry-driven experiences that make science feel engaging, memorable, and fun for learners of all ages.

Safety

For over 25 years, safety has been an integral, ongoing part of Samsara’s professional training and practice. She has led science activities and demonstrations in classrooms, science centres, and at outdoor venues, with groups ranging from five participants to audiences of hundreds.

Thinkery Tinkery’s parties are designed specifically to be portable and safe for use in typical homes and community spaces. Activities, equipment, and setup have been carefully selected with these environments in mind.

* Before booking, please review our Safety Parameters page to make sure your space meets our requirements.

* Safety always comes first. For this reason, demonstrations may occasionally be adapted or substituted depending on  conditions. Our goal is to give every guest a fun, exciting, and safe experience.

Diversity and Accessibility

Science is at its best when it is by everyone and for everyone. Thinkery Tinkery is committed to supporting diversity, inclusion, and belonging in STEM.

I recognize and value the many forms of diversity within our communities, including disability, cultural and racial diversity, gender  and sexual identity. When possible, Thinkery Tinkery will  seek out opportunities to share, highlight, and amplify the work and voices of people from underrepresented communities in STEM.

I want Thinkery Tinkery’s experiences to be accessible and welcoming to people with disabilities. Please let me know about any accessibility needs, accommodations, or questions when booking, or as soon as you become aware of them. The more information I have in advance, the better I can prepare and determine what adaptations may be possible.
